Alasdair talks to John Vaillant, author of the Baillie Gifford shortlisted book Fire Weather: A True Story From A Hotter World to explore how fire is evolving in the 21st century and whether humanity is going to be sufficiently prepared to tackle its advance.

Fire Weather tells of the catastrophic wildfire in Fort McMurray in Canada in May 2016, and asks if the fire’s surprising power and devastation is a harbinger for greater threats to our climate.
